Are there sugar-producing bacteria in the mouth?

Most of the bacteria in the mouth produce acidic byproducts. But lately, I've bee having this unusual sweet taste in the lower part of my mouth (by the jaws) midway through the night. Are there sugar-producing bacteria in the mouth, and if so, how common are they?
