You obtain all the Vitamin D you need just by opening your blinds or walking outside to get the mail each day - your body doesn't need much. I am not sure of the risks of tanning during pregnancy, but if I were you, I wouldn't try it. If it is dangerous to your health, it will probably be dangerous for your baby's health too. Avoiding practices like this is a small price to pay for giving birth to a healthy, vibrant child.
