Can I get legally married in two states to the same person?

I've read so many contrasting answers to this question that I want to hear what Yahoo! Answers has to say. My boyfriend and I are planning on getting married in California in November. However, due to situational and financial issues we are probably going to need to move in together sooner than that. We can't afford rings or anything at this time- we were planning on all that later. We very much want a California marriage license. What I want to know is if we can get married here in Ohio at a courthouse or something now and then proceed with our plans later in the year? We want the second date as our anniversary, not the Ohio date. This may seem silly to some people- as they would just wonder why we don't just move in and wait but I would still like to know if it is possible to go through with it twice.
