How do I convince my dad to get me a puppy?

My mom just kicked me out and I had to leave my dog there, she wouldn't let me take him, I miss him and I miss having the companionship. My stepmom wants a puppy too but my dad flat out refuses even though I know he likes dogs. Any tips on convincing him? We have a fenced in backyard and I only want a little dog.
