Where would I find information on either Dr. Frederick Wertham or Maxwell Gaines and the history of EC comics?

Frederic Wertham was the man who attacked comic books in the 1950's famously calling Superman a fascist and accusing Batman and Robin of being involved in a relationship. Maxwell Gaines was the publisher of EC comics which was an extraordinary comics line that ran everything from Crime comics to Horror comics and their layouts and executions still rank as some of the best pop art to come out of the 50's scene. EC was hit hardest by the reforms made to the industry after the comics code was self-enforced by publishers who did not want goverment interference and censorship queering their hustle.
