Question regarding our confession of Christ as Lord & Savior?

Yes, we need to believe in our hearts what we are confessing. Otherwise they are just empty words. It is not the words that God cares about, but the heart that confesses them. I think that's why Jesus said on Judgment Day there will be many who cry out Lord, Lord, and he will answer them, I never knew you.
